His mother was murdered and his father committed suicide. He was diagnosed with asbestosis, COPD, and emphysema. His grandson was diagnosed with a rare disease and subjected to an experimental treatment where doctors cut his muscles open so they could absorb oxygen from the air. But Pastor Shelby emerged from it all with a rock solid faith in Christ and many life lessons to share.
The author has been a pastor for 58 years. He pastored four different churches in Knoxville, Tennesee and surrounding areas. His radio program aired in Knoxville for 16 years and he preached in many revivals. He is the dad to the gospel singing group Eternal Version.
He is the father of seven children, all now adults. When his first wife died he remarried and inherited six more children. He lives in Knoxville with his wife.
